What to do in Borneo

Mother and daughter staying 4 nights in KK wanting to go to Sandakan. What is the best way to do it,. book a tour when we get there? Thinking of going to Brunei via ferry for maybe 2 nights? Have 2 spare nights in the middle - can anyone suggest anything?

What to do in Borneo

Book leave nothing to chance as I found Brunei/Malaysia not that well set up for casual tourists. You could treat yourself to a couple of nights of Luxury at the Empire in Brunei if you like to sit by one of its many pools all day.Brunei itself can be seen in a day %26gt;Take a trip to the water village %26amp; river trip.

What to do in Borneo

thanks kiwikieth, actually we have just come back and you are quite right Brunei, especially is not set up for tourists. Beware wanting a taxi only 35 (used to be over 400) taxis in Brunei as everybody has cars, and so are expensive if you can get one. Not a lot to do, after you do a 4 hour sight seeing trip thats about it!!!!!! We stayed at the Rizquin absolutley beautiful rooms and staff and in town, but as there is no grog allowed in the country there is no night life but we enjoyed the food and some good movies. Beware anybody arriving in KL a bit before midnight as the taxis DOUBLE their fare from midnight to 6.00am. We had booked at the ZON ALL SUITES but after seeing what we were paying $260 a night for, refused to stay there (this was at 1.30am) The lift is a moving coffin that you have to help open its doors on arrival at your floor. Ended up staying at Traders in a suite for only $50 more which included all the trimmings - Trader%26#39;s club has super breakfast, morning, afternoon tea, 2 hours of cocktails and food, and all the extra trimmings like private check out and free internet - just lovely!!!

Absolutley loved Borneo and will be back asap.
