Nedd advise visiting Bandar Seri Begawan in a couple of day.

We will be stopping in Brunei on our way home to Austalia for 2 nights, I would like to know what tours that anyone has taken and enjoyed. I cannot seem to find alot on tourism and would like some sort of insight before we leave. Also i have heard that it is very expensive , is the shopping good and is it customary to bargain. Also would it be safe to visit the water village on our own or should we have a guide? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

hi buzzaround,

hope i%26#39;m not too late replying to your post. Theres a number of tour operators in brunei that conducts half, one and two day tours. There%26#39;s the www.bruneitourism.com website, as well as a some local tour operators like www.freme.com.

There are some bargaining opportunities in some shopping establishments, but not at department stores.

Yes, it would be alright to walk around the water village on your own, but its advisable to take a guide who knows their way around. I would also recommend going to kianggeh and take a water taxi. Prices may vary, and will probably start from $50 brunei dollars per trip. Dont forget to ask them to take you for a river view of the sultan%26#39;s palace.
