miri to Brunei or Labuan

I am trying to organise connecting flights from Kuala Lumpur and then onto Kota Kinabalu to either Brunei or Labuan. It seems my best bet is to fly from KL to Miri. Can anyone tell me how I can get from Miri to either Brunei or Labuan?

We are on a tight schedule so I didn%26#39;t want to have to do overnight stopovers in KL to wait for flights. We fly into KL via Air Asia at 16:55 on 31st Jan and need to fly out of KL again on the 9th at 15:20. Only the flights from Miri, Sandakan or Kota Kinabalu fit with these times.

The only way to get from Miri to Brunei is by bus, which according to my guidebook, means changing buses 4 times.

As far as I can see, the only way to get to Labuan from Miri is by air. You can then either fly to KK or get the boat.

Why not just fly into Brunei from KL or fly direct to Labuan (Air Asia Express have recently started flying between the two, and are cheaper or look at Malaysia Airlines or Royal Brunei). Then you can either fly straight out to KK or get the boat from either (although the Brunei boat stops at Labuan first!). Or fly direct from KL to KK????? According to my guidebook, Air Asia have 5 flights a day between the 2!

Normally, we can depend on private transport @Rm50/pax from Miri to Brunei.

Hi Lisa,

we are trying to get from Brunei to Miri and the buses seem to take around 5 hours and require several changes. We found a tour company who will take us by private bus (there are 5 of us) for $120BN and they say it takes 2.5 hours. The company was Intrepid, do a google search on Brunei Bay.
