Banda Seri 7hours stop over.
Hi Jan...
Not much at the airport - especially at that time - although the food outlets would be open. Given that their airport is so close to town and facilities, I would suggest that you either:
1. Go to a hotel for a break/shower, etc. Somewhere like the mid-range Brunei Hotel, you should be able to get a room for $80 or so for that time. Ten mins from the airport. Close to town for a walk around - and nearby coffee shops - or just a shower and rest. Orchid Garden is even closer, but a bit more expensive...but could be worth seeing if they will give you a short time rate.
or
2. Go to the Gadong Mall shopping precinct. Less than 10 mins from the airport. Largest shopping centre in Brunei. Have a wander around - shops open until around 10. Plenty of food outlets. Adjoins local outdoor food market. Also movie cinema on top floor if you want more time to kill. Catch a taxi back from the Centrepoint Hotel - but give yourself enough time as not always cabs around.
But keep in mind the 6pm flights might often be late - and you will need to get a transit visa toleave airport ($10 I think). But it would give you the chance for a look aroun.
Or
3. contact a guide for a drive and look around Brunei for a couple of hours - keeping in mind it usually gets dark most of the year in Brunei at around 6.30.
Hope that helps. let me know if you need more info.

Just did a bit more checking - and Orchid Garden Hotel (nice hotel, close to the airport) will generally do free airport transfers if you prearrange. If you are just looking for a freshen up and break for a few hours, that might be a better option - and save two taxi fares. Contact them and enquire about a short-term rate. Food and coffee there is also very good - anything from their roti snacks to substantial meals - and also the best brewed coffee in Brunei. It%26#39;s less than 5 mins to the airport from there.
Hi Geoff
I think that sound lik a good idea, I will contact the Orchid.
Again thank you.
Jay
