We are wanting to go to Borneo in August and are arranging trip details. We would like to go from KK to Kuching, but also stop over in Brunei. Royal Brunei flies KK to Bandar to Kuching for $220, is this reasonable? I saw on their site a BND89 fare but it wouldn%26#39;t pull up. I guess going back to BKI would be cheaper but more a hassle? Or are there other/cheaper ways to do this route?
KK to Kuching via Brunei?
There is a few ways you can do it.
KK - Limbang (Sabah) -%26gt; By Air MASWIng(www.maswings.com.my)
Limbang (Sabah) - Brunei (BSB) -%26gt; By Boat, Arriving right at the centre of town)
Brunei (BSB-KB) - Miri (Sarawak) -%26gt; By Bus/Coach (Leaving Early Brunei, 3-5 Hrs approx)
Miri- Kuching -%26gt; By Air MASWing again
Or
KK-Labuan -%26gt; By Air or Express Boat/Ferry
Labuan-Brunei (Muara) -%26gt; Ferry/Express Boat (Schedule start after 11am and last trip 4:00pm)
Muara -BSB -%26gt; Bus/Taxi
BSB- Miri -%26gt; Bus/Coach
Miri - Kuching -%26gt; Via Air MasWing
I believe this will be a cheaper option and you might be able to see more.
Can I assume the $220 is US dollar? and not inclusive of TAX and Fuel Charges?
KK to Kuching via Brunei?
That%26#39;s 222 US$, and includes all taxes, per person. So probably not too bad a deal, but at $450 it%26#39;s alot more expensive than KK-%26gt;Kuching direct (I can book BKI-KCH AirAsia for two people for $48!).
We may change our plans around, currently we have an award ticket on hold into BKI from HKG. Just checking on paid tickets, HKG-BWN-BKI is $365 all-in for two people booking on bruneiair.com, then we could book BKI-KCH on AirAsia , it comes out a little cheaper, and we can get there a day early.
We%26#39;re visiting Borneo in October and I really liked the suggestion above to fly from KK to Limbang and take a boat to Brunei. However, for me, MAS Wings does not show any flights for this route.
I don%26#39;t see any nonstop KK-Limbang flights either; I only see flights via Miri.
Hi,
Sorry for the wrong info. I thought they still do the KK to Limbang flight. They used to do that flight perviously. Maybe they will do it next time once the airport has been upgraded.
If that the case, then you can do my option 2 or alternatively, you can. travel from KK to Labuan to Limband to BWN all on ferry/speed boat. I think that will be more interesting and more things to see and will be cheaper.
Maybe the flight is seasonal. I%26#39;m seeing nonstop KK-Limbang flights starting in September.
