Empire Hotel - Transport to the City

I am staying at the Empire Hotel in July and need to commute to the city each day for 7 days for shopping and dental work.

From the fourm the average taxi charge is 30 B from the Hotel to City and this become rather expensive.

Is there a bus since to the Hotel from the City?

Is is safe to ride bikes and can they be hired?

Is there a water taxi from the Empire to the city?

I have also tried to get a map of BSB. Does anyone have a pdf Toursit Map?

Empire Hotel - Transport to the City

Hi JDJW786

I%26#39;ve checked out with the hotel, and they say that there%26#39;s a bus that goes to and fro the city Bandar Seri Begawan. It starts from 7.30am every 2.5 hours and will take 1.5 hrs to reach the city. The schedule is not reliable (i%26#39;ve been told) and I would think it would not cost more than $10 a trip (forgot to ask about the price :p)

We generally don%26#39;t use bikes to travel except for in small town areas like Kuala Belait and Seria where traffic is not so hectic (we consider biking a sport activity..:D), and if you%26#39;re thinking of travelling from the hotel to the city, well, its too far (and hot and humid!). Anyway, I don%26#39;t think there%26#39;s any bike rentals available but check with the hotel staff just to be sure.

There%26#39;s no water taxis between the Empire to the city.

Unfortunately, I couldn%26#39;t find any tourist map of BSB.

Have a great stay here in Brunei!

Empire Hotel - Transport to the City

I am arriving in July 4th and have the same transport problem. Also, I have heard that dental work is cheap in BSB. Could you reccommend any particular dentist? I was thinking of getting some work done in Phuket but BSB is an option....

Wow, im surprised to hear that ppl come to Brunei for their dental works. That%26#39;s something new to me. Im local.

Anyway JDJW786, if u need any transport arrangement to and fro Empire hotel. I can help~ 4get about the killer one way taxi trip.

Hi,

Decided not to use BSB Dentists - they don%26#39;t seem internet savvy ie questions and quotes. I recommend the Smile Dentist in Phuket (Patong)

Nature Kingdom - you mention that you are accredited guide. Do you have transport for sightseeing -jdjw786@hotmail.com

Cheers
