Tourist Places in Bandar Seri Bagawan

Hi there,

We will be arriving Muara from Labuan by boat on 1 May. Plan to visit places like Omar Ali Saifuddin Mosque, Royal Regalla Museum, Kampong Ayer and Jame%26#39;Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque in the city upon arrival in the morning.

Could someone advise whether we could visit all the above places within one day on 1 May? Are these places open to visitors since 1 May is a public holiday?

Please help.....

Thank you and regards,

Theresa

It is a bad news that you arrived here on Friday (1st May) as Friday is a holy day. So most mosque will not be accessible due to the friday prayer. And other places mention above will be close for friday prayer between 11.30-14.30. Other than that, if you arrived on other day, it should be fine. You can also grab a bus from the ferry terminal to reach the mentioned places.

Dear ConfuseHelpless,

I was told that non-muslims are not allow to enter the Mosques. We probably will visit all the Mosques at night as they are better lit up at night. Is that true?

Will Royal Regalla Museum be re-opened after Friday prayer at 14:30 and is Kampong Ayer open for public on 1 May as well?

How about the the Oil and Gas Discovery Centre (OGDC) (Seria), is there a galery open to public for visit? operating hours? entrance charges? How far from Bandar Seri Bagawan? Is it easy to reach if we drive on our own?

By the way, is Malaysian driving licence valid in Brunei?

Appreciate your advice.

Thank you.
