transit

Family of 6 adults have 12 hour stopover in Brunei en route to Sabah. Appreciate advice on costs/ideas for visas and day tours while in Brunei. Shouldthey be prebooked or can you pick up at the airport.

Transit visa is BND5. You can use BND or Singapore dollars. You can exchange $A at the airport. There is also an ATM at the airport.

In March I arranged a tour 1/2 day city and sights tour at the airport. Counter on the left as you exit the terminal building.

Hi there,

Just got back from Kota Kinabalu myself. Had over 12 hours lay over in Brunei. My advice, get yourself some Brunei or Singapore dollars from Perth. You%26#39;ll need it for entry visa @ $5 a pop (if you decide to get out of the airport) Brunei Airlines has a deal with Brunei Hotel for a day use for AUD 66.00 including airport transfers - good value. Brunei Hotel is smack bang in the middle of town (bonus). There%26#39;s a market across the river 2 mins walk from the hotel. Eating places (Pizza Hut, Jollibee, can%26#39;t find mackers...) within walking distance. A short stroll (in the evening) towards the mosque is a must - the mosque is quite a sight when lit. after dinner and sight seeing, should be just in time for your transfer tot the airport.... I%26#39;ll put my money on Sabah tho... lot%26#39;s more to do and see... good luck mate...

Hi I am an aussie living in Brunei, let me know what time you arrive, and who you are flying with...RBA can be late, and I will think about what you can do ,and get back to you.I would happilly drive you around but 6 adults is too many lol!!!Also what you like to shop for,buy etc.It could be a good shopping destination.I seem to remember you cant get singapore dollars in Oz when I came.Actually it might have been Brunei dollars.I think it was.Singapore dollRS ARE THE SAME AS b dollars here...oops caps lock. But its hard to swap B dollars back.Get singapore dollars.

My daughter and I will be arriving tomorrow morning in transit to Thailand, and will have a day to kill.

Were wondering what there is to see and do in the city (apart from the Mosque - which we wil definitely have a look at) and if there are any places of interest not far from town that we can catch a bus to.

All suggestions welcome

My son and I got back last night. We booked a city tour at the airport. Walk out of the terminal and on the left near the hire cars. We did city and water village tour then went shopping at Gadong. The shoppind better in Sabah. Get singapore dollars $5 for tsansit visa but be careful cos you get the change in Brunei dollars so have to spend the change in Brunei. 6 adults should have no probs getting tour and guide we had was very knowledgable with interesting facts and figures about the country and the sultan.
